Yeah, you can tell that it is not the first time she's had her picture taken. Quite sultry though.

Well done John. How did you get the flash to be so "muted" on your subject?

Yeah, like kai asked, how does this f/4 1/25 second at 1600 iso with flash seem so nice and soft? I'd have thought that combination to be way brighter and harsh.

Thanks, fellas.

Re: the flash work, this was an indirect off the card. Not sure if I dialed this one down a couple or so stops. If you want to know more than that, you are going to have to talk to the rum . . .

LOL

Rum sure can make things look more beautiful, though I've only heard of people receiving such benefits from the drink... not a camera ;-)

Thanks for both answers.

Kyler . . . the good thing about working at f/4 is that most of the field is pretty sharp, even when the eyes are rum-ified. Lately I have been choosing to work at 1600ISO, even in reasonably lit areas, because I want to be able to use a tighter aperture and freeze motion. I was surprised in some way that I was using my slowest lens here, but sometimes it just makes more sense. I also wanted a wider view.

Thanks sakura! Club lighting is nice.:)
