This is the scariest, or creepiest temple I've been to. When you park, you are greeted by paintings of terrible things happening to people. The images show people being crushed by boulders, smashed by large hammer devices, being tied down and hacked with swords and axes, being chained up and eaten by wild animals, being tied up and gutted with their organs spilling out, being tied up and having their throat slashed, being tied up and having nails hammered into their body in various places, being lowered into boiling water, being sawn in half, being fed hot coals, having their eyes gouged out with a knife, being tied to metal that is burning hot, being tied up and eaten by birds, being gutted and hung on large hooks, being beheaded, being shot with arrows, having their hands cut off, being force fed boiling liquids, being thrown off a cliff on to spikes, being squished by a rolling pin machine, being hung, and tons of other terrible stuff. (I took photos of all of those listed, in case anybody wants to see them.)
Tien says they are trying to show what happens to bad people after they die. I am not one to focus on the negative to try to get a positive result, so I don't think that having those paintings is helpful, but beyond that, they're not very artistic, they're just poor illustrations of terrible acts.
