    Metal rungs lead out of the lion pit. Reminds me of the hatch in Lost :)

      Escape, or ACCESS route ; ) Amazing pic. Really like the shadows and colours, esp the creeper weaving around the rungs. Soon this is going to be an overgrown pit of ivy and plants. This pit HAUNTED me as a child. I remember watching a lion pacing impatiently around the bottom of it, looking up at us. I still hear stories of how people living in Rondebosch and Rosebank could hear the lions roaring at the moon in the middle of the night.. yes.. creepy.. actually the whole side of the mountain here creeps me out a bit. I'm planning a night-visit here soon. Hopefully it's safe from vagrants.. I think a bit of light-painting is in order..
