They are a low cost swarm robotics platform some friends and I are developing for a fourth year module of our degree course.

Pretty pleased with them - they're the cheapest thing around at around £15 each, and reasonably powerful. MSP430 microcontroller, IR for comms / possible sun-based navigation, lithium ion battery with ~2 hours of driving before recharge. Automatic recharging via the antlers and skis on the front. Motors from mobile phones in differential drive. They also have a down-looking IR photoreflective sensor for identifying "food" tokens.
