Let's just say that Mel Crawford is THE MAN. This is a fantastic LGB, with gorgeous illustrations by Mel. One of my favorite children's books in my collection.

Ya beat me to it! I picked up a pristine first printing of this at an estate sale in November and have had it on the "to scan" pile since then. I knew you had a copy, of course, but figured I'd post it one day if you didn't get around to it. It really is a great book.

Yeah, this book had been staring me down at work for weeks -- I'd been meaning to scan the thing right away, but work always seems to get in my way. Such a good book! So inspiring.

another forgotten memory! I was gonna say, I had a LGB of Uncle Wiggily that was totally different from this, but after doing a search, I discovered that mine was a Tell-A-tale book. (which is another forgotten memory...Tell-A-Tale books, of which i stilll have many!)
