Just Between Us... , a booklet for girls about menstruation; published by Beltx Corporation, copyright 1950, 1955, 1961.
To me, it's amazing that the editors of this little booklet allowed the spokesgirl to have freaky swirly eyes -- usually a sign of craziness or dizziness! This is either a stroke of genius or incredibly inappropriate -- I'm not too sure.
Allow me to introduce to you....Betty Kay.

Wild. From the look of those peepers I think
the family doctor has already prescribed a
little something to Betty Kay for that female
concern!

What's really sad is I remember being given
this book in 6th grade by the school as part
of our hygiene classes that year!

Omg, I received one of these from my mom!
The pain was our fault because we didn't
maintain a positive attitude. Doesn't the
narrative in this remind you of "The
Stepford Wives"???

Wow I was also given this book in around
1978. Thankfully by the time I started
bleeding like pig every month, tampons were
available.
Also thankfully I never experienced the
stupid little napkin belt.
I can tell you this book didn't really set
my expectations very high for life.
Oh I get to be some drugged out housewife!
joy.

Congratulations this has been posted on
Boing Boing. Here.
I only wish I was allowed to see it at a
larger size so I could read it.
Great find.

noh thing, I normally have it where only my
contacts can view larger sizes, but I'll
change it so that everyone can download
larger versions for a while. Especially since
the type in this booklet is so small.

Hey, I remember this too, it was the big
"talk" that the boys and girls got
separated for in my Toronto school, grade 5 I
think....freaky but I'd sure change it for
the sex ed talk my just 12 year old got last
week....nope, not periods or body hair, all
about sexually transmitted diseases and how
they are exchanged, oral and anal sex and
all....and to think I was afraid to talk
about my period with my grandmother....my guy
blurted it out during after school
snack....oh, thank god he's the last of the
three cause i'm either getting older or they
are getting braver!
Maybe learning from a book your mother
slips under the door isn't all that
bad....lol
