oh boy, you asked for it. The process is a bit involved. It was all done in Photoshop. This image began as a Camera RAW image. I altered the hue/saturation, brightness, contrast, tint, shadows, exposure, and cropped the image all in camera raw before officially opening in Photoshop. All the alterations for those settings were based on personal preference and can be done in Photoshop of course, but I really seem to get great results straight out of camera raw. After I opened the image in Photoshop, I altered the background layer using filter>distortion>lens correction at about a -50 vertical perspective and clicked ok, I then repeated the lens correction at about a +25 vertical perspective. I had to add a layer beneath this one that was filled with solid black as the photo edges had pulled away from the canvas leaving a transparent border. I then added a textured layer over both layers in the overlay mode and played around with the opacity. The next layer was made using the same texture image again only with the middle of the texture layer cut out so that I could get that almost burnt dark look but only at the edges, I applied this layer using multiply, again playing with the opactiy until I liked the result. I then added a curves adjustment layer, playing with the blue/red/green curves. And lastly I added a hue/saturation layer to make final color adjustments. Even for those familiar with photoshop, this may be a bit hard to follow and vague but an adjustment for one photo isn't always right for another and it's always best to try, try, try again until you like the result. If you know nothing of photoshop this is all jargon and I apologize. :o) I'm still learning photoshop but it sure is fun and you can't be afraid to jump in and try new things!!!! I definitely plan to use this process again on other photos using different textures and adjustments.
