Here is Wal-Mart's neighbor just two doors down. They've served the
community for years,
but how long can they last? They've wiped their sign clean--the
difference is too obvious at
first glance. How many oil changes do you think Walmart *really*
does for $13.88?

Actually, two doors down sounds like it could be quite far away. The Pennzoil shop entrance is actually less than 100' from the entrance to Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart now looms over these small businesses in front of it, along with our local park where the walking track and ball diamonds are less than 50' from the Wal-Mart parking lot. There's no missing it. Oh, and now there is a walkway (for our shopping convenience) that goes right to it--in case you want to do a little shopping while your little leaguer does, or doesn't, notice your absence. Hey, saving money at every opportunity (at Wal-Mart) is what's important, right? They'll understand.

It took just under a year to put this oil-change shop, that employed at least two handicapped people, out of business. How can people in a small town not get it? How can they be fooled by this giant, and put their own friends and neighbors out of jobs? How much was that oil change at Wal-Mart *really*? How is that good for the community and it's economy? I fear the 60+-year-old city bakery is next. WOE stands for "Wal-Mart Owns Everything". Woe will be us/US.
