NYC - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

NYC - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by wallyg.
The Manhattan New York Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, designed by Frank Fernandez, at 125 Columbus Avenue, was dedicated on June 13, 2004. Unlike most Mormon temples, which are known for their attractive exterior architecture, the Manhattan New York temple is unremarkable by most standards.

The first Mormon temple in New York City represents something of a homecoming for the Mormon faith--the church was founded in 1830 in upstate New York before being forced west. Prior to its opening, New York Mormons had to travel as far as Washington DC or Boston for services.
