Looks like Esquire has their map feature up now, so I will post the full-size image here in case anybody wants to see it in more detail.
What I was trying to do was to make a sort of scaleless map of the US, where you could see the patterns within individual cities as well as you could the pattern of the country as a whole, using a cartogram technique to scale areas according to their density of geotags. I still think it might work at a poster size, but a computer screen is really too small. The colors for the different states are arbitrary, just to give you a little more to orient yourself with since the shapes are sometimes so distorted.

Wow, what art this is Eric (full size is a must-see)! Supprised by the rectilinear streets of the cities, and the paths following the Mississippi in New Orleans. Can see Lakes Pontchartrain and Borgne too....
