Central Park and Prospect Park are photogenic, it seems. Maybe nature distracts people from tweeting.

Wonderful melding of programming, curiosity, and aesthetics, Eric. Any chance you talk about how you go about accessing the data sources, and then assembling the spatial info? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! The Flickr locations come from the Flickr search API and the Twitter locations from the "locations" filter on the Twitter streaming API.

This is amazing! It that some sort of program you wrote to map out the locations of tweets and flickr postings?

  30. Uriel_Li (16 months ago | reply)

Hi me again. I'm trying to re-produce some similar map and do analysis. My question is how many dots are needed to make a map like this one? and also how about the national one? Thank you!
