Blue pictures are by locals. Red pictures are by tourists. Yellow pictures might be by either.

I didn't realize there were "locals" in Vegas. ;)

Well, they aren't taking many pictures! But more than a million people live in the metro area.

I was totally kidding ;) It is quite astounding how much different this is than most of the other cities - so much red, so little blue.

I wonder what that little blue center in the lower-middle of the maps is.
MoronDude 37 months ago | reply
I'm pretty sure that's McCarran Airport.

McCarran is the lower density of reds, blues, and yellows just east of the south strip. The blue area right in the middle corresponds to an industrial park east of the east-west runway. I have no idea why people would be taking pictures there.
Apparently, I can't post a link to the relevant Google map.

That might be Sunset Park, but the marks are off slightly... There is another small cluster to the right down the street from there, which is the Ethel M. Chocolate factory.

Funny, I though the Strip would stand out more. ;)

I'm pretty sure the blue SE of the Strip is Henderson.

What's that red splotch ~directly west of Fremont?
VideoPokerGal 37 months ago | reply
the red splotch west of Fremont is Springs Preserve. The blue southeast of the strip and the airport is Sunset Park. The splotch of blue south near the bottom of the map and a little east of Sunset park is the District at Green Valley Ranch.

That's right. Locals don't really go to the strip much... :-\

You should have contained more of the west and northwest of the valley which is Las Vegas. Technically, this is mostly Clark County and Henderson. (The majority of "The Strip" is actually not in Las Vegas but small townships in Clark County)

The maps all show the areas where the most pictures are taken, not the legal limits of any city. If Las Vegas proper would like to be more central to the map, people are welcome to take more pictures there.
