Meet my very good friend Keino. He is the one responsible for my travelling to NY during this cold weather to attend his beautiful and moving wedding... As soon as I arrived in the City last Thursday, we had tea at a cosy cafe in Brooklyn, and then headed to Saks to buy him suspenders for his tuxedo. "How can you have the nerve to buy the suspenders just a day before the wedding?" That was the sales man scolding him. Heh.
I spent the loveliest afternoon with him, before going to his rehearsal dinner. I hadn't seen him since 2004!
Sadly, I didn't take any pictures of the wedding (the camera is too big and I didn't want to carry it with me and look after it), but this one photo brings back memories that i will always treasure. 2008 couldn't have started in a better way!
I love you Keino...

Aaaaah... All in all it's been a good year...

The Twelve Grapes at Puerta del Sol

The Twelve Grapes is a Spanish tradition since 1909. In December of that year, some alicantese vine growers came up with it to better sell huge amounts of grapes from an excellent harvest.

It consists of eating a grape with each bell strike at midnight of December 31. According to the tradition, that leads to a year of prosperity.

The twelve grapes are linked to the Puerta del Sol tower clock, where this tradition started and from where the change of year is always broadcast.
