Kilbuck Creek BridgeAfter making a meet with ethanol empty #617, DM&E train #272 is out of Davis Junction, IL as it crosses the Kilbuck Creek bridge. The trio of SD40-2s is led by the ICE 6430 on this Sunday morning. Train #272 was good-sized this day: after making a 6 car setout on the hill track in town, he left with 67 loads, 37 empties for 9650 tons.

DME ethanol empty at Kirkland, ILThe snow is still falling as Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern train #617 rolls into Kirkland, IL. The winter weather was giving the signal system a bunch of problems, and this train has chewed up nearly 3 hours to cover the 30 miles between Elgin, IL and here.
