She Doesn't Understand a Water Dish

When we gave the mama dog stray a dish of water, she stood in it, then lay down with her front legs in it, drinking all the while. Maybe she's been stray most of her life, and doesn't understand water dishes? Or maybe it was because she just observed her puppy getting a bath in an inflatable swimming pool a few feet away.
