The WA Band performed numerous Patriotic songs at the Veteran’s Day assembly

On Wednesday, November 10, Washington Academy welcomed 48 local veterans to a lunch in honor of Veterans Day. Served by the STARS students (Students Teaching About Respect) under the direction of Emily Fitzsimmons, Food Services Director, everyone enjoyed a chicken dinner with all the fixings. Following lunch, faculty, staff, and students of WA joined the veterans in the Gardner Gymnasium for an afternoon of reverence and remembrance. Under the direction of Sarah Holsapple, Music Director, the Academy’s chorus and band performed several patriotic pieces in honor of Veterans Day that had the assembled guests and students applauding for more.
