Cap'n Crunch / Thompson Twins

Cap'n Crunch / Thompson Twins by Waffle Whiffer.
In 1984 the good Cap'n showed the world he could rock with a series of Rock-n-Roll stickers given away in his cereal.

I'm going to take a wild guess that the Thompson Twins fan club no longer answers mail at that address.

For me, the best part about this sticker is the removable (disposable) backing with Cap'n Crunch on it.

I LOVED that album back in 9th grade, I probably woulda spazzed to get that in my cereal. Pretty darn hip for the Cap'n, I must say

[:::] Bill -- They also had stickers of U2, Duran Duran and Rolling Stones. There may have been others.

[:::] CheshireCat -- It's probably been about that long since last I thought of the Thompson Twins, and now I've got lyrics stuck in my head.

[:::] Billoney -- Sounds like a good idea for YouTube. :-)

[:::] Bomobob -- "T3" could have opened for U2.

[:::] Wishbook -- They sure did. Must have been around the time The Unforgettable Fire was released and they started getting more radio play.

Yah...that's the right timeframe. I just didn't realize they were getting enough non-college radio play to warrant an inclusion in Cap'n Crunch! Wow!

I'm still a fan of the T-Twins, so it hasn't been that long since I last thought of them/played an extended mix. Now, had I known about this offer back in the day, I would have invested in Smedley's Peanut Butter Crunch. :-D

The Tin-Tin movie is coming out soon... maybe the "Thompson Twins" will do a song for the soundtrack!
