winter

since I got a new lens (50mm, f1.8) and a proper flash (SB-600), i've been more inclined to do photos that are more exploration, rather than documentation. in this series (there are four shots, this one is the second in line) i like the fact that i control the environment, for the most part. I have total control over the light, how close I get to the subject without the subject minding, managing the flow of water and so on. I started off with trying to get waterdop crowns, but soon it turned into exploring different angles of the flash in a quite tight space. being less than 1 meter away from the cabinet and the wall, bounce flash gives results taht are completely different from each other - walls are brown, cabinets are light grey. translucent subject absorbed colors from the reflecting surface.

i think this must have been what I had in mind when I asked, "do you have, like, a really nice camera?" new lens-- *that*'s it. Again, great work. Abanos gaumarjos!
