This is a terrific shot!
The plant and the circular stairs compliment each other so well. The red in the corner finishes the image perfectly.

cool spiral, nicely patterned by the tiles and burgundy lines. red/green really bring it out.

like this photo ...it immediately caught my eye and your composition kept it ...my only comment is i wish you lowered your camera just a tad to enclose the rail ...think that would do cool things for the spiral effect ...great shot though!

I am not crazy about this shot, but I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt. The patterns are really interesting, and I like the red coat entering on the left.

it's nice enough but the red doesn't fit in. I'd like to see well defined legs rather than the shapeless coat entering the image.
the round structure sticking in at the top right is unfortunate too.

Taking a photo of a modern shopping mall's architecture that is not simply boring is something I couldn't even try. Still, it seems you had some framing problems that, given the subject, might have been impossible to avoid.... Most visible, the crop seems overly tight and nonetheless you've got those chairs on the lower corners and that round piece of floor on the top right.

The rail at the bottom is just barely cropped out. Keeping it in frame would have been great but not a deal breaker. Cool patterns and the red/green contrast is nice.

BTW: which Embarcadero was this?

a bit boring
technically very well done
some disturbing details in the crop
not all the visible lines are necessary

the beauty of art...everyone has an opinion (and you know what they say about opinions....) Seriously - its unfortunate when people say that something you have created sucks, but I really do appreciate that it created some sort of feeling in you...even "boring"!!!

Such a great image. I really like it. I also wonder what it would look like with the lady fully seen by the viewer (maybe not so good). The contrast of the red and green as well as the opposing geomtry is great.

Thank you Coxee - I have a couple of different versions of this - one without the woman (utterly boring)...and another with the woman near the bottom of the stairs (unfortunately I had a crap camera with me...) This was the most intersting of the three. Luckily I caught the woman when I did!

i'm wussing out and abstaining, but just to add to the debate, i'd like just a tad more of the woman -- enough to get a bit more activity and more red, but not enough to get a distracting face.

heh... how's that for asking the impossible?

It is not a bad picture at all..however even with the crop you have there are parts that have too much cropped out and other parts that do not have enough. You are missing railings, but yet have parts of chairs. It just is not worth a save. sorry.

Not lately, unfortunately. Only two of my photos have made it at all since the end of January, and they were only in for about a day each. I really don't concern myself with it anymore, because I figure if a lot of people like my photos and give me good feedback, that's all that is really important.
