crayons that don't draw in color.

crayons that don't draw in color. by vrogy.
One of the problems with DRM is that it's associated with low-quality music. Why doesn't Apple sell the FLACs I can get *by the discography* through illegal channels, free of DRM? I have a decent audio setup that has great sound(paper), so why do your DRM'd files sound like crap(greyscale crayons)?

Drawing(awesome) by Joshua Bonnain, pic and editing by me.

Not only that - they won't draw *at all* on paper that isn't from crayola and partners!

I agree that there should be options for higher quality audio files, but that's got little to do with DRM.

Yeah, that's what 'm protesting- the muddying of the waters by adding sound quality when they remove DRM. It's sneaky, manipulative, and pretty typically Apple.

Apple's interest is in selling iPods and iMacs. I'm sure they would sell the highest quality music files free of DRM for $.10 a track if the music companies allowed it. Fact is, I applaud Apple for blazing the DRM-free trail and that they've made any progress at all is a huge accomplishment. The music industry is a very large, old dog afraid of the future and it doesn't want to change.

Hah, greyscale crayons. But I agree, Ill donate money to the artist, if possible, and use illegal means to get the music, because lets face it, DRM wont let you have any fun, for no good reason. DRM no matter what will always be defeated, because if you can hear it, it can be recorded, do a 1:1 copy by using a double male jack and connect your mic to the speakers, and use audacity to record it. It takes time, but you wanted to pay for it, right?
