Tidepoint and the Water taxi by √oхέƒx™

Tidepoint and the Water taxi

Baltimore has been awarded $1.6 million in federal stimulus funds to improve its newly launched water taxi service.
The money is part of a $60 million pot of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds earmarked for ferry projects nationally.
The city launched the new water taxi service, called the Water Taxi Harbor Connector, in May to traverse the Inner Harbor from Tide Point to Fells Point and Canton.
Two 24-person boats may be purchased with the new funding.
The taxi runs from Fells Point to the Tide Point business park every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. The city plans to add a second route from Canton to Tide Point later this year. www.bizjournals.com/baltimore/stories/2009/07/13/daily22....
