PIN UP'S 1998 delta calendar

Pin Up's was my first (out of eight) calendar done for Delta Print house (Thanks to ethusiasm of my friend and owner of it Slawek Tomaszewski). I grow up in a serious context of country which culture is deeply rooted in suffering so even that I had natural inclination to hedonism the direct attention to pleasure was somehow inadequate for me for a long time. The idea of focusing on beauty, fantasy, doll like look seamed too "superficial". After having my heart broken in 1997 I had two choices in front of me: to get offended with the idea of woman, love and pleasure or to drown in it. I decided to drawn:) The girls participating in the project were coming from different backgrounds but mostly not professional models. The experiment was fruitful and bringing the princess / diva out all those naughty and independent girls and transforming them into the perfect dolls felt pleasant for both parts. All the pictures were done in my basement in Warsaw. I worked alone - all decorations, clothes, props came from my collection. Doing make-up was especially pleasant part of it. At that time I worked almost only in cross-processes developing negatives as slides. This whole set is done with heavily overexposed Kodak Ektar 25.
