The flower in every ♥... is the Forget-Me-Not (EXPLORE FP)

FORGET-ME-NOT.......
(not very likely, it's on EXPLORE on FRONT PAGE - on May 15!) - Thank You!

COULD every blossom find a voice
And sing a strain to me,
I know where I would place my choice,
Which my delight should be.
I would not choose the lily tall,
The rose from musky grot,
But I would still my minstrel call
The blue Forget-me-not.

And I on mossy bank would lie,
Of brooklet, rippling clear;
And she of the sweet, azure eye,
Close at my listening ear,
Should sing into my soul a strain
Might never be forgot,
So rich with joy, so rich with pain--
The blue Forget-me-not.

Ah! every blossom hath a tale,
With silent grace to tell,
From rose that reddens to the gale
To modest heather-bell;
But oh! the flower in every heart
That finds a sacred spot
To bloom, with azure leaves apart,
Is the Forget-me-not.

Love plucks it from the mosses green
When parting hours are high,
And places it Love's palms between
With many an ardent sigh;
And bluely up from grassy graves
In some loved churchyard spot
It glances tenderly and waves
The dear Forget-me-not.
(Crawford, Isabella Valancy, Canadian Poet, from 1850-1887)

I would like to dedicate this photo to the mourners of lost ones. And then to all those who still have a beloved one nearby but THEY have lost the capacity of remembering (e.g. Alzheimer). And to those who have family and friends who decided to forget about knowing them. And to all those who just LOVE this modest, humble and beautiful flower; such as myself… :-)

My husband and I had an infinitely touching get-together last Saturday. We have dear, dear friends where the husband is suffering from an advanced state of cancer. Every time (which is not too often) we visit, we are convinced that it is the last time we see him. Every time we take farewell for good - and every time our terminally ill friend is giving US new strength, not the other way round! Probably doesn't say much for us but it says a whole lot for him. This is just to say: K. & H. - We are with you EVERY DAY, with our thoughts and prayers and we will never forget you. You will go when the time is fulfilled. And it will be entirely our loss...

    thanks for the dedication, kiki - this is really to do with my great-grandmother and I will explain, but have to search something out first.
    And I just remembered something else - I once watched ants in our garden gathering forget-me-not petals into a small heap before taking them down into their nest.
    The blue really vibrates here, with the dark background, gorgeous!

    Je ne te demandais pas de traduire. Mais je traduisais le titre en Français. Le Myosotis : Forget me not = Ne m'oubliez pas.

    Ahhhh .... this touches me deeply! The image is excellent ... so lovely and delicate! And the poem *sigh* ... very moving. I especially loved this line: So rich with joy, so rich with pain--. The final and wonderful touch was your words of dedication. I know exactly what you mean by getting strength from your friend ... I lost both my parents to cancer and it was like that with them ... they inspired and brought strength to me. Thanks for sharing this marvelous piece.
