New security camera on the west side of Penn Station (James Farley Post Office in the background).

What's to watch here, I wonder. There's a taxi line. Maybe they're going to monitor the pedicabs that pull up, and check for licenses. Hmmm ... I suspect that some political appointee wants to be able to watch the surge drills from his comfy office.

Actually, there's a lot of arrests there of hustlers at the taxi line telling tourists "$50 for a cab to the airport," taking their $50, and then running off and not giving anything to the cabbie.

Moknits ... is this something recent, or from the old grimy NYC days? There's a dispatcher-type guy there now, and the cabbies only take people that are at the front of the line. Running up to a cab down the block doesn't work anymore.

Yes, I don't really handle this kind of case much anymore, but I could say that they still happen. It's not everyday, but it still happens.

And people stealing luggage too. Same kind of scam.

The cab stand guy walks away for a minute, maybe he's helping another passenger. And BAM! tourist scammed. =)

Big brother. Arrest these dirtbag violators of the law and keep them in jail and there`ll be no more problems with them. After travelling through the airports this weekend i could imagine the headaches one goes through when having luggage ripped off.
