Hey bitch, where's my mail? Stuck in the back of the Forest Hills Post Office, that's where.

She wants to fly like a bird but instead she has to wait on line in the post office looking at the clock crawling by.

I have very little faith in the Forest Hills post office. I'm constantly receiving other people's mail, which makes me wonder where they're delivering mine.

Rego Park isn't much better. What amazes me about the Forest Hills PO is that it is so nice looking on the outside, and so horrid inside. Seems that everytime I'm in there, there are papers all over the floor and no forms or Priority envelopes out, etc.

The bulletproof window service is also quite an attractive inside feature!

Oh yes, that adds so much to the decor. The place should come with instructions because I always have trouble with the section for packages.

I mostly use a nice, little post office in Manhattan -- Chelsea -- where you can still look the counter people in the face and hand them things without glass in between.

Great shot of the art deco exterior ornamentation!

I like using this post office better than ye olde scary Rego Park post office near the LIE overpass. There's usually only 1 person behind that counter and it's never less than a 1/2 hour wait... Forest Hills' line, at least, moves! :)

Rego Park is actually my post office, tho Forest Hills is closer. I hate having to go to the Rego Park one to pick up packages. They never have enough people working the windows and it's too small. Plus, it's an ugly building.

I agree - horrid interior, and having bulletproof windows is absurd. I guess it's to protect indifferent postal employees from the rage of the three dozen people who've been in line for 45 minutes. Plus, if you ever ask them to hold mail, don't expect them to deliver it all to you when you get back.

If that's a better situation than at Rego Park, then I weep for Rego Parkians.

Gah. I'm currently away on a business trip and they ARE holding my mail. Ruh-roh. :-o

Actually, I've never had a problem with them doing so ... but I always make sure that I go to pick it up, rather than having it delivered.

The best P.O. to go to is the Parkside Branch on 71st Ave. and Metropolitan Ave. In and out in less than 5 minutes. Read this: 2fg8m6
