This is the most open floor space that has been visible in my office for months.

This file box is helpfully labeled "Reference" and contains I-don't-even-know-what-yet. (While I've cleared a bit of a pathway, this does not mean I've advanced to dealing with whatever's in the newly accessible boxes.)
Desk drawer which had been empty for months, only because I couldn't open it due to the vast accumulations of crap immediately in front of it. Now it has unused office supplies, which I am given to buying whenever I have panic attacks over being perpetually enveloped in chaos.
Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. $2, thrift shop. (At least I don't hoard shoes like I do paper. And meds.)
Completely empty file cabinet which I could not get to until recently because of all the unfiled crap crammed into boxes on all sides of same.
Bin containing, among many other items, Christmas wrapping paper. Which would have been awfully useful a few weeks ago, but since I couldn't even see that I had this, we had to buy more.
Contains, among other items, photographs from when my schizophrenic grandmother was following a guru (who, for his part, was later brought up on charges of sexually exploiting his followers).
Paper to be recycled, much of it having recently been scanned into Evernote, a brilliant application which may yet save my life.
schmutz.

After many hours of cleaning. (An all-nighter, in fact.) See also the desk. Also, somewhat wider view of office from four months ago.

Congrats on cleaning the office, and on scoring some seriously cute shoes! I dearly need to do an office purge this year (and I'm willing to offer photographic evidence of how bad it is).
