Bandon, Oregon

After a stunning sunrise at Crater Lake (see previous shot), we headed to Bandon on the Oregon coast and got there just in time for sunset. Compared with the tranquil beauty of Crater Lake, the oceanside exhibited a different type of serenity.

Oxbow Bend, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

On this morning, clouds covered much of Mt. Moran (which is right behind us from this vantage point). We looked behind us and saw that the early morning light was really putting on a show!

Sunsets like these are far and few between in the Bay Area. I was fortunate enough to capture this amazing display of light and clouds.

Altamont Pass, a mountainous pass in Northern California, is home to one of the oldest wind farms in the U.S. and the largest concentration of wind turbines in the world.

As I processed this shot, I noticed the shadows that were cast on the moving blades (this shot was taken early in the morning when the sun was still low). As much as I'd like to think that I had planned it that way, the neat shadows were truly a pleasant surprise.
