So many items bound together by the web. What is the story of the central photograph my dear Vivi-Mari?

Thanks to both of you! Yes, destiny is sometimes like a boat tied to a pier, and the physical aspects of life sometimes like an anchor that threatens to pull the boat into the depths. But as I see it, there is no real choice in the way humans usually conceive of it.

The image is a photo of my dad tieing our boat to our pier at the summer cottage (in the background) in the archipelago where we used to stay the summers for many many years. I seem to remember that I took it although I was only about 6 or 7 years old, but it might have been my mom as well. I have the right to use it though :-). The summer cottage keeps creeping up in many a nightmare even to this day. In the dream, the whole place has been turned into a tourist trap. Last time I saw my beloved forest it was all cut down. That has traumatized me quite a bit since I loved the forest and knew it by heart, plus it was ancient and very beautiful. In reality this area in the archipelago is pretty much spoilt by moneyloaded tourists although I haven't seen the island since 93. The Baltic Sea which used to be vibrant and beautiful is also practically dead now.

Incidentally, this image is going to appear with my article "A Choice Without a Choice" on spirituality in the next issue of the ezine Scribespirit. That's in October.

to accept the metamorphoses and other changes is often more tragic for the intermediate generations (although we are always the intermediary of some alive processes.) :-(

Thanks, that's very insightful! It's terrible to be in the midst of transformation with a sense that there is no where out, but that's life alias destiny!
