Wow, aside from the (cough) Dell, that's one hell of a sweet setup - especially for a "home" rig.

This is cry out to anyone that can PLEASE make a sleek cable management system. I hate the cable jumble that's created by power cords.

Dope setup, but whats with the cheesy posters on the wall??

yeah, have to favorite this just to have something to aspire to.

What is really amazing is that the shot isn't wide enough to include everything that you have. So far, all I have is the Mac Mini with Cinema Display. I'll catch up eventually. Sigh.

Outstanding setup! Our drooling is appropriate, thats how good it is. Sadly my "cable management system" looks worse than yours and I have less equipemtn than you do, so it would just be a tad bit hypocritical for me to criticize.

That is a beautiful setup. But, I gotta tell you; from my experience, it doesn't pay to advertise what equipment you have to everyone. You are creating an open invitation for those individuals who make a living as THIEVES. Especially since your website has your address on it. I hope you have an amazing security system to go along with all of that hardware, not to mention insurance. A friend of mine had a very elaborate multimedia set up, and his house caught on fire and ALL OF IT WAS DESTROYED just a week ago. That's why I'm writing this way. He actually took the loss rather well considering he now has no belongings. Earthly things come and go, so don't set your heart on them, that's my point. Sorry for not being another brown noser.

The address on my site and my home address are different. Those showing up at my home would be rather disappointed anyway as I am currently in an apartment while I am renovating. But in the end you are correct these are just tools of the trade. The only things important to me are my family and the work I produce. Everything else, well that is why I have insurance.

I do photo management / post processing with apeture and photoshop on the dual head G5 I also do editing with Finalcut for any video I capture on it as well. For day to day work/email/IM skpe... etc I use the 17" powerbook. I carry the 12" PB with me in my camerabag for traveling and work on the road. The minin and a 300GB external drive host my music and other iLife files. I have G4 in the basement as a fileserver and backup for my digital images. The dell and tablet are used for a development project I'm working on for a healthcare company

The landscapes photos are impressive because you took them but over all they just contribute to the clinical symetry of that room. It just doesn't work it's too antiseptic and uncreative. Not trying to be a curmudgeon or deliberatly try to find a fault out of jelousy for your hardware which is top notch.

You spelled 'form' instead of 'from' on your notes over the pictures on the wall and I agree, a little cable management will go a long way... other than that a very nice setup. What kind of work do you do with the XL1 and FCP? I'm interested because I'm just starting to get into Final Cut and would be interested to know what possiblities there are for work.

Definitely be sure to look at the Mac software Teleport, its free, it allows you to use one mouse and keyboard to control multiple Macs. It works best if you have the screens next to eachother. so if you moved that 23" closer to the 30" to the right, then the same mouse and keyboard from the Power Mac could operate the Mac mini, just by moving the mouse all the way to the left, it would seemlessly transfer over to the 23" for you to control it. Hard to explain it, mind blowing when you see it happen. Nice setup, I'll clean up the cables for you ;-)

This setup is insane.

I can't imagine making enough money from photography and video work to afford all of it if you are freelancing, or even working for a small company. Let alone NEEDING all of it to do the job.

Yes, there's a bit of jealousy there, but even my dream Mac setup in my mind doesn't include that much overindulgence.

It is pretty though. And the cameras and lenses are fantastic.
