Come and see the overwhelming beauty of Bled. Romantic walks or a carriage ride around the lake, or a trip with a traditional pletna boat to the idyllic church on Bled island. A visit to the mighty castle on top of the vertical cliff by the lake, the nearby ski slopes, mountain hiking trails, children's events with Zaki the swan, cycling, hunting and fishing - these are just some of the things you can do in Bled. The oldest castle in Slovenia, first mentioned in a 1011 donation deed as castellum Veldes. Perched atop a steep cliff rising 130 metres above the glacial Lake Bled is a symbol of Bled and Slovenia – Bled Castle. The image of the castle forming a romantic backdrop to the two girls and the church on it has earned the resort worldwide recognition through the centuries. Castle terraces offer spectacular views of the lake and the island. There is only one island in Slovenia, but it is more beautiful and appealing than most island chains anywhere. It is situated in an Alpine lake, surrounded by picturesque mountains. For centuries it has been an enchanting symbol of the town that modern tourists are just beginning to discover and to which they often return.
Lake Bled is a glacial lake in the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia, where it adjoins the town of Bled. The area is a popular tourist destination. The lake is 2 km long. The lake is situated in a picturesque environment, surrounded by mountains and forests. A beautiful medieval castle stands above the lake.
Op een hoge rots torent het Bled kasteel, één van de oudste kastelen uit 1004 van Slovenië, over het meer uit. Dit kasteel uit 1004 is een van de meest bezocht toeristenattracties van Slovenië. Het oudste deel van het kasteel is de romaanse toren. De gebouwen van het kasteel liggen rond twee kasteelhoven, met elkaar verbonden door een trap. Behalve het museum ook een traditionele drukkerij, wijnkelder, waar gasten hun eigen wijnfles kunnen vullen, en een kruidengalerij. Bled kasteel trekt bezoekers niet alleen met de sage en pittoreske architectuur, maar ook voor het onvergetelijke uitzicht op het meer en het bredere gebied van Gorenjska en de Julian-Alpen. In de zomer maanden is de kasteel sfeer verlevendigd door het bezoek van een aantal deelnemers aan het boogschieten toernooi, en op warme zomer avonden, worden bezoekers aangetrokken door concerten van klassieke muziek onder de sterren hemel. Rond het alpenmeer kun je uitstekend wandelen, maar je kunt er ook een bootje huren, vissen, of in de omgeving paardrijden. Op een eilandje in het midden van het meer ligt een kerk. Bled ligt op 50 km. van Ljubljana.
