Rainy Season in Thailand

Newer Older

The island Koh Kut (Thai: เกาะกูด) is located in the district of Trat Province, eastern Thailand which borders with Cambodia. With a population of about 2000 it is the district with the lowest population of all Thailand. Total island area: 162.2 km².
It is a major island ringed by sleepy seaside villages, coconut plantation and jungle. It is about two hour from the mainland by speedboat. Kut Island has limited infrastructure and hence is not overrun by tourists like nearby Ko Chang. Several small resorts on the islands cater to mostly Thai tourists who prefer, like us, a quiet and family-friendly atmosphere.

We just got back from our holiday to Thailand. We had such a great time ;-) Thanks for all comments during my vacation. The rainy season in Thailand is from May till November. During this season you got some of those torrential rains that last 30 minutes to 2 hours, like this one above, then clearing and sun. It was a most spectacular scene and scary too. Recently the tropical storm Kammuri killed hundreds of people in Vietnam. So I could have shot my last picture.
