Backyard Chickens

Among other cities, Raleigh is more permissive about people keeping various types of livestock within city limits. The law is more specific about cows, horses, and goats. Other than that, they basically don't want loud nuisance animals. The hens here are pretty quiet, and most of my neighbors have no idea that I've got a flock in the back yard.

My girls are going through the load of kitchen scraps that I had just dumped in their run. They see the bowl of uneaten table food, and crowd around the screen door to the run with great anticipation.

sidewalk stain

I was walking up to the office building that I work in this morning when I saw a strange stain on the pavement. Contrast has been enhanced as the cell phone didn't capture it well, but that mark was apparent clear as day on the sidewalk.
