I still find this all to be incredibly ridiculous. :P I mean really.... how can he not expect people to use the term "SLArt"?

Ryker, read up on Benjamin Duranske's virtually blind and especially the comments section there. (In my blogpost, I also link to that article, first link you come across. ;))

Well, he can actually legally trademark the word SLart if he uses it as his company name\identity. The process doesn't bar him from doing it at all, it only says that it can be appealed during the process by either the reviewing agent, or an informed third part. His appeal to the revocation was not challenged, so he gets it. As I said before, it doesn't prevent its use in any way shape or form by sl artists.

In the end, it doesn't really matter as he won't get anywhere if he presses lawsuits. No european country or first world nation will extradite for financial 'crimes,' as they are civil matters, and no US judge will allow that trademark to stand in court.

Seems to me all you'd have to do would be appeal the trademark and mr. minsky (and his invested money in the process) would disappear.

Or wait 'till he does?

We have a strange situation in Belgium:

- USA nuke's and most of us want them out.
- we can't file charge against them in any way
- so they are trespassing military bases in the hope they will be put to trail
- so they could in reply, get the nuke case to court.

it's really funny, if you look at it this way, that those people are actually trying to get charged with a crime, so they can start a lawsuit =d

(but picknicking on the military base was nice, six years ago =d)
