Whirling Ear, Alexander Calder (1898-1976)

Originally made for the US Pavilion of the 1958 Brussels Expo.

You can see king Albert I’s equestrian statue and City Hall sticking out from the background, and if you look at the horizon to the immediate right of City Hall, you can see the Koekelberg Basilica in the distance.

Calder also made a sculpture for the 1967 Montréal Expo, but that one is not a mobile.
