Wild Turkeys 3-7-08

near Little River - after photo'ing these toms displaying on Friday, we just had a flock of 14 turkeys stroll through OUR YARD!! So exciting and a first for the yard. It was rainy on Friday so the photos weren't the clearest but it was fun. VIcki

Dang but these are some gorgeous photos. I see wild turkeys along the road quite often near the house but they are too fast for me. You are so lucky they came visiting.

WoW! Fortunate to catch the male display! Not too often seen! But it is the right time of year and I have begun to hear TAILS! lol!I think on the second shot of them running through, that they heard or at least felt you! They can slim down and run real fast when they spy a threat!Great Shots!

Vicki, this is so cool. I remember my parents talking about wild turkeys being in their yard when they had a place in the NC mountains. This past summer, there were turkeys hanging around the cabin we rented in around Franklin, NC. Man, I can't wait to live up there! BTW....GREAT PHOTO!

We saw a few wild turkeys this morning on our way home from a trip. I had hubby pull the car off the road so I could grab a few photos.
