Freeform Knitting - 140 of 365

attached day 126 (fuschia mohair) to main piece, and attached days 80 (prayer flags) and 128 (dna helix) to day 126.
attached this scrumble to the adjoining sides
attached the silver icord
attached this crochet scrumble
attached 2 more of the yellow coins under the ruffled flap
eeek! that's so cool! I love it!
xao: this bit went in early (day 03) and has a long backstory. it was originally supposed to be the bottom of a knit tea cosy, but morphed into a boob. it has also appeared in my 365days self-portrait project.

Notes: today was a maintenance and re-grouping day. i attached several of the elements that were unattached and wove in ends for about an hour. there are still 2 unattached scrumbles (upper right and upper left); haven't figured out where they fit yet. i added notes showing the areas i worked on today. (you can see much more detail at the original size; click 'all sizes').

i wish i could figure out how to show the relief in it, the 3d factor. it has a lot of sticky-outy bits, which i really like but can't seem to photograph.

and thanks!

i love that you think so, amber. :)

i wasn't sure if the new bits would be apparent. although it's been a month (!) since my last 'grand view', it has gotten so big that details don't stand out any longer, unless you view it in person. it is *so* huge, i had to re-orient it on the long side of the table. it now measures about 38inches at the widest point.

i think i'm in love with it, but like any good love affair, i hate it too. ;)

Ah, this time I see a sacred elephant. You know with all the "jewels" as we can see in India. Great, great work Velma !

somehow you've managed to identify two of my animal spirits, e_g: the fish and the elephant. and like any lucky elephant, mine has her trunk up! thanks for the kind words.

it's easy! just knit a bit (or crochet), then add another bit, and keep going 'til you feel 'done'! there's a shot here of the first day of this piece, if you are interested. and thanks!
