Sweater to skirt
![]() This is a project from the book Second Time Cool. I washed an old sweater so that it felted and shrunk a bit, then I removed the upper part, turned the rest upside down, and voilá! A skirt was born. Then I crocheted along the hem and a made a waist ribbon too. I simply cut holes for the ribbon which was easy to do as the material doesn't fray. I still have the rest of the sweater left, maybe I'll make a few purses out of it.
This technique is not for those who don't like surprises, since you'll never know how the sweater will turn out when washed. For me it's part of the fun though! Commentsuninorth13
