totally fucked water catchment design

Yes, I intend to change the design of future water catchments. This one has too much infiltration and evaporation. It's completely ineffective and was dry after one month.

Pretty massive evaporation and infiltration. Plans are for the Kenyan or Australian style 'dams' that are usually excavated by machine. But no reason why they can't be hand dug. These were dug using cash for work. I think people wanted to stay digging shallow soil that is easier than rock...
