Justice for Kenny Lazo / 2nd Year Anniversary
Justice for Kenny Coalition organizes outside of the 3rd Precinct of the Suffolk County Police department to demand justice for Kenny Lazo, who on April 12, 2008, was brutally beaten to death by 5 Suffolk County cops: James Scimone, William Judge, John Newton, Christopher Talt, and Joseph Link.
These officers had 7 previous complaints of excessive use of force with blunt objects, and yet, the DA never pushed for indictment.
Kenny was beaten and choked to death with flashlights. By the time they were done with him, his tongue was sliced in two, and the bruises on his face and body made him barely recognizable.
Kenny left behind his son's mother, Jennifer Gonzalez, and his beautiful son, Kenny, Jr.
Kenny's case is currently being used as additional evidence on a case requested by the Southern Poverty Law Center and opened by the US Attorney General's office on broader police corruption charges against the Suffolk County Police Department.
