• We haven't been to Peru. A relative bought us this after we mentioned that we'd like to go to Machu Pichu. It's still on the list of places to see :D
  • The photographs in this book are amazing. Highly recommended.
  • A book of beautiful photos to remind us of diving on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia
  • We went to NYC on our Honeymoon. We both want to go back.
  • I'm not sure why I bought a Time Out guide instead of a Lonely Planet. I may need to replace it! We got married in Vegas and are going for the 4th time for New Year 08/09 :D
  • We went to Italy for my friend's wedding in July 06. The wedding was in Southern Italy. We then went on to Rome.
  • We went here as part of our honeymoon.
  • We went here when we went travelling for a few months. It's very idyllic but we were a bit bored as there's nothing to do!
  • I went here a couple of weeks ago on a hen do.
  • We went on a city break to Madrid at the end of Sept 07. It is an amazing place that we both absolutely adored. I would love to go back.
  • We've just been to London for the weekend.
  • These three are very well used. We went to these countries / places when we went travelling in 2003.

Travel Guides

I love our travel guides. We only started buying them when we went travelling in 2003. We now buy one for every new place that we go to. I have a Switzerland guide to add to these (going in May/June) but it's next to the bed at the minute :)

I have just moved them in to the living room so that I can stare at them all the time! Lol. They bring back such happy memories :)

I have a similar bookshelf! In fact I have 4 of your collection plus a few others of my own! This is making me want to go on a holiday! The Great Britain one is good too..especially when you have visitors or want a cheaper break somewhere.

The Great Britain one lives in the car :)

My dad swears by it and my sister and I have kept up the tradition. Great for when you don't want to stop at a service station on a long journey!

Grrr I can't find the 366 days one on Amazon. Only this one: www.amazon.co.uk/Earth-Air-Days-Herve-Bras/dp /0500542783/...

Was thinking of Fiji as a stopover later this year - is it really VERY boring???

I suppose it's your idyllic white sand, blue sea, palm tree kind of place. Apart from snorkelling there was nothing to do.

Katy Snaps Glad I stopped by to read this. I too have 'THE GOOD PUB GUIDE' & you're so right. It's worth its weight in gold. (& it does weigh a bit too!)

I must remember to pack it in H's luggage tomorrow when he flies out to the UK on yet another business trip. He'll be there for a month so I bet he'll find it extremely useful ;-)

    seen in my contacts photos

Thanks EY - I recently sold one of my photos, so I'll spend the spoils on that book. They can't be that different I guess. Cheers for the link :)

Good to see more fans of The Good Pub Guide!
I look forward to hearing when it's arrived, tried and tested!
Which photo have you sold? That's exciting! How much did you charge? Make sure you don't undercharge yourself...that's my problem!

I love your travel guides and what fab memories you have to go with them.

@katy - Someone emailed me and asked if they could buy a high-rez version of this photo as their colleague is leaving work soon and she walks past the Minster every day on the way to work and this person thought it would make a nice gift printed and framed. I was really touched they'd asked me, I only charged them a £15 amazon voucher! I honestly had no idea what to charge, and seeing as all I was doing was emailing it across it didn't feel right to charge too much, what do you think?

  18. Vanessa (EY) (63 months ago | reply)

It's a fab photo. Well done.

  19. Katy Serendipity (63 months ago | reply)

I agree with EY, it's a great photo.....and you didn't charge enough!!! I'll talk to you about this another time.
