    Nikon F80 | Samyang 85mm f/1.4 | Kodak Ektar 100

I have had my Samyang 85mm lens for nearly a year now, but I haven't used it as much as I would've liked to. I have found it rather difficult to get accurate focus with the razor thin DOF at f/1.4. A few weeks ago I ended up getting a split prism focusing screen for my Nikon F80, the kind you have on vintage SLRs. Initally I wanted to go for KatzEye, but due to its limited availability in Europe, I ended up ordering a no-brand one from Hong Kong, which, at £20, also cost a fraction of the price. The new modification instantly made the Samyang my favourite lens. It's still a little difficult to focus when it's dark, but ~90% of the shots from my latest film were focussed pretty much spot on, even shooting wide open :)

I love it on my D800 and F80, but find it quite difficult to use on the D90, which has a crop sensor and thus a smaller viewfinder. I would suggest renting or borrowing it (if you can find it anywhere, of course) before you spend the money to see if you can deal with the manual focus - at f/1.4 the DOF is razor thin and getting a perfectly focussed shot can be quite difficult.
