Raise the minimum wage rally
"Raise the Wage, Kansas," a state campaign partner of Let Justice Roll, successfully organized for legislation to raise the Kansas minimum wage from $2.65 to $7.25, which passed by large majorities in the House and Senate, and benefited about 20,000 workers when it took effect January 1, 2010. Governor Kathleen Sebelius signed the bill into law on April 23, 2009, and in her statement on the bill the governor called the increase “long overdue.”
