Renewable Energy in the Mountain-Prairie Region
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is committed to smart and responsible energy use. In recent years, the Service has provided American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds to refuges across the Mountain-Prairie Region for energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy projects.
Each refuge and hatchery recipient conducted energy audits and used data from the audits to determine how best to spend its ARRA funding. The projects created a safer, more sustainable environment for refuges and hatcheries across the Mountain-Prairie Region, and will contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gases for years to come.
