Cattle farmer Larry Woods installed fencing on his land with assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). The fencing keeps the cattle out of the wooded valley improves surrounding forest areas. Woods’ work with USDA’s NRCS EQIP program has enabled him to improve his land and conserve natural resources. Woods added a cattle-watering system, fencing to control cattle movement between fields, planted 9.1 acres of forage for the cattle to feed on, improved the forests on his land, and created new wildlife habitats.
