Scott Koehn, owner of the motor vessel Lt. Michael P. Murphy, is presented with the Coast Guard Meritorious Public Service Award by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Thad Allen during an award ceremony at the New York Waterway Terminal Feb. 18, 2009.
Koehn received the award for piloting his vessel against the downed US Airways plane to rescue passengers after it crashed in the Hudson River Jan. 15, 2009.
