Open Pit Gold Mine

Near Beatty, Nevada On the right you can see a recent open pit mine in the distance.The open pit mine is near where the Montgomery Shoshone (shaft) mine was. If you were to go to the base of this hill you will find the grade of the Las Vegas & Tonopah Railroad on it's way to the Rhyolite depot. I don't know the story on this building but I don't believe it was here a few years ago.
