This bee was not happy when it saw that I was blocking its exit from the squash flower with my camera!
Compare to this photo from last year, taken with a Nikon Coolpix 8700.
Thanks to melittophile for identifying this as a squash bee, genus Peponapis.
Update: This photo has been "Farked" in a most bizarre photoshopping contest (warning, not all images are safe for delicate eyes!)
