Great perspective. I agree with Orn S, I like the way the light enters the shot. (1-2-3)

The grain works here. I like this, although without the figure it may not have stood out enough for a save me vote. With it, it stands out enough for me to give it my vote.

Personally I don't like the person where they are. They're way too dark. The grainyness is alright, but it seems more like you shot this with a cheap camera more then with grainy film like a 100. Just my opinion

I like the pattern, interrupted by the monk's figure.

nice composition and good use of space and geometry..

totally worn out on monks, churches, religion, mysticism, art, and old places by the whole 'code' thing.. not your fault really :)

The human scale of the figure contrasted against the sweeping elegance of the structure is what really makes this for me.

I would save it if it was more contrasty. Everything but the person is just the same shade of light grey.

i think that the gray scale is wrong... in "all sizes" there's bad resolution... i think you could do something better

I actually prefer the muted greys here - but the monk has to go. That splash of plugged-up black ruins the whole shot for me. That and he looks as if his proportions are a bit whacked - like he's shrunken.

i like this a lot. i like the monk (is he actually a monk?) his darkness and smallness really add to the rest of the shot, giving it scale and depth.

@bikeracer: no, not really a monk..;-)

Good shot, but he's not very monk-like, and could be cleaner overall:

The angle is great, as is the perspective. And the black and white works just perfectly.

and when will people stop thinking b&w grain implies a picture is art?

    32. Urban Disturbance (85 months ago | reply)

who said that grain is art?
