"Apprentice Wins Awards
Mr Roy Pinder, Apprentice Cook in the university union, successfully entered the Nestles Culinaire Competition.
Mr. Pinder took out the Gold Medal as overall winner for the second year apprentices and a Bronze in the open section for sweets and cakes, a Bronze in hors d’oeuvres and Silver in the gateaux and cakes section in the open section of the competition.
The secretary manager, Mr John Broughtton, said that the Union was proud to have supported Roy, who brought recognition and acclaim to the union through his outstanding personal achievements.
