They are wood, Jennifer. They are three of a set of five nesting bowls for the baby. Like this set, only our large one is red rather than blue.

I should say that my older kids still play with them a LOT. They use them in the play kitchen all the time. We've had them for years, but I always put them in the basket with the baby toys if we have a baby in the house.
